Dr. Debaprotim Dasgupta presently designated as Professor and Principal at NEF College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Nagaon, Assam, India. He has received his M. Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from JSS College of Pharmacy, affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai in 2009 and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Gauhati University, India in 2016.

With 16 years of academic and research experience since 2006, serving as Lecturer of D.Pharm program at Anuradha college of Pharmacy, Buldana, Maharastra from 2006 to 2008, Lecturer at SBS college of Pharmacy, Amritsar, Punjab from 2009-2010, Assistant Professor at Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, Guwahati from 2010 to 2018 and Associate Professor at Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science from 2018 to 2020. From September 2020 onwards he is executing the position of Professor and Principal at this Institution.

He has published more than 30 research and review articles in reputed national and international journals. Also Dr Dasgupta has one patent registration in his credit. He is acting as Executive Editor for Indian Research Journal of Pharmacy and Science. He serves as a reviewer for several reputed journals and working as Editorial Board Member for different international journals. He was awarded Gold Medal for securing First Class First in B. Pharm. from North Bengal University in 2006. He is guiding a number of Ph.D students and serving as P.I. in a RPS-NER funded mega-project. He was also invited as resource person in many seminar and conference. He represented Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science for Utkrisht Sansthan Vishwakarma Awards 2020 and secured third position in the competition. He has been actively involved in different regulatory functions of PCI, AICTE, NBA and NAAC.
